<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">A week ago I came back from a two and a half weeks holiday in Germany. Going back to my home country I was visiting family and friends and enjoying the good life despite some still fairly cold and rainy weather. It is so nice to meet up with old friends that I still keep contact with and of course my family was thrilled to have little Susi Lou, my three year old daughter, around.</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>I was certainly enjoying the good food!</strong></span></span></span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">And everybody turned our meeting into a feast, cooking for us special food, having a BBQ regardless the weather or backing a cake when we just would drop in to have a chat and a coffee. Also, you must understand that having grown up in Germany I still remember all the special sweets, nice yogurts, bakery products etc. that they have and which I do not get here in South Africa. Not that I really need them, but as they only were available to me during this time, I had to have them all or I gonna miss out for at least another year!</span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">And I did! And not even with a bad conscious!</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>Oops, 3 pounds gained!</strong></span></span></span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Even though I did do a few runs through the woods and fields, my guess was that that would not compensate for all the extra calories. A disaster weight-wise? Well, my first regular weighting after the holidays (mornings just before I step into the shower) revealed that I gained 3 extra pounds! Admittedly, now a bit of a bad conscious crept up on me!</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>&#8230;and 3 pounds off within a week!</strong></span></span></span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">But already one day later I had lost one pound and after a week I was back to my old weight. Easy? What did I do?</span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Actually nothing really special, just going back to the lifestyle I was used to and trying to avoid any extra calories. However, I don&#8217;t think that all the 3 pounds were fat, probably even mostly water and fully filled bowels <img src='http://dietonautopilot.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Also, it might take another week for that weight to stabilize, but never mind.</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Surely we shouldn&#8217;t pig out during the holidays with their all-you-can-eat buffets, but who can help their cave man genes that make us to just stock up for as long as the good times last?</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>It&#8217;s neither the 2 weeks holiday nor the 2 week crash diet that determines our weight!</strong></span></span></span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Anyway, it&#8217;s not the 2 weeks holidays that make us fat, it&#8217;s what lifestyle we are lading during those other 50 weeks of the year! Vice versa it is also not that 2 week crash diet that slims you down, it&#8217;s how you eat and exercise the other 50 weeks of the year! So if you want to lose weight permanently, work on those!</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong>And YOU?</strong></span></span></span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">How about you, can you keep your cave man genes in check?</span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Or do you also overeat at buffets and during holiday (or Christmas) season?</span></p>
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">What are your tricks to bounce right back weight-wise?</span></p>
<p lang="en-US">
<p lang="en-US"><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;">Let me know and drop a comment, I&#8217;d love to hear from you!</span></p>
